Work for your passage to the land of the mighty mountains.

The Hell Race offers you a chance to explore the world of endurance sports, by working your way from Manali to Ladakh for 5 days, teaming up with one of the top outdoor sports and adventure companies in the country. What you get is a chance to hang out with some of the best marathon and ultra-runners in the country and from abroad, an opportunity to admire some spectacular scenery at your own pace and an insider understanding of what goes into organizing an endurance race on the world’s toughest highway.

Who this opportunity is for -

We’re keen to work with volunteers who have skills to help us execute this event. The said skills can range from photography and videography, medical and physiotherapy backgrounds, or just a car and driving ability, with enough space to act as our backup and medical emergency vehicles. We’re open to ideas at this point. If you think you can be of use, write to us and we’ll figure a role out for you.

What will it take to be on this trip of a lifetime -

Apart from unlimited enthusiasm for endurance sports and the great Himalayan outdoors, all selected volunteers will be expected to pay some amount which may vary from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 for the entire duration of this event (the final discretion in this regard lies with the Race Director), which will include all meals (basic vegetarian fare) and accommodation (on multiple-sharing basis in camps or hotel rooms as per the event itinerary).

Please Note -

  • This volunteering opportunity includes all meals and accommodation from the morning of the 15th June in Manali, to the morning of the 23rd June in Leh, Ladakh.
  • Accommodation may be in the tents or hotel rooms, as per the itinerary of the event, and all accommodation will be on multiple-sharing basis throughout the trip.
  • All meals during the event will be basic vegetarian, as options are scarce on the Manali-Leh highway.
  • Videographers and photographers will need their own equipment to work with and share all data with The Hell Race media team. Credit will go to the respective photographer and videographer.
  • Medical personnel will be on call throughout the duration of the event – our runners will compete in different categories and will be at various points on the highway at any given point in time.
  • If you’re making your car/jeep available to us, we will pay for the fuel. But please also note that this is only applicable for vehicles with just one occupant who is the driver. Additional passengers will be liable to pay the traveler fee as per the event rules.
  • The Manali-Leh Highway snakes through the mountains at an average elevation of 4000m. Not everyone can handle these conditions and acute mountain sickness is quite a common condition at such an altitude. Please apply only if you have previous experience in the mountains and thin
